1st day of school

The girls had a great first day of school!!! Ellie is super excited to go back tomorrow, let's just see how long this will last. Maci made a ton of new friends and loves her teacher. Ellie loved eating lunch with her friends and was way excited to bring me home a note to sign (she has seen Maci bring stuff home over the years to be signed and Ellie felt so grown-up).
Presley had a little bit of a rough day missing her sisters and so did mommy. Tomorrow's outfits are already layed out and the girls are all fast asleep and the best part is that it is only 8:00.

Ft Worth Stock Yards

This could be my next mode of transportation (it's green right???)

You don't see this every day walking down the street.

Gotta love the TEXAS LONGHORNS!!

Maci did really good, it's in her genes from her great grandpa-he would be proud.
Last night was great, we needed to get out of the house so last minute we drove 15 minutes to downtown Ft. Worth and had a great time!! It made me realize that I so need a pair of cowgirl boots, ok maybe two pairs.

Meet your Teacher

I did not get a picture of Maci's teacher, you know she is in fourth grade now and apparently moms with camera's are not cool (don't worry I will sneak one later on the first day of school)

The night the girls were waiting for finally came!! The girls yes, Maci and Ellie (I can't believe Ellie is going to start Kindergarten on Monday) got to go to school and meet their teachers. Maci teacher is Mrs. Pavelka, she seems really nice and Maci is excited to start 4th grade. Ellie was hilarious and picked out her desk in the very front of the room, and just started making friends right away with no problem she was telling people that she was from Colorado and asking were they were from. I have a feeling parent teacher conference with Mrs Harman and Ellie is going to be very interesting this year. School starts on Monday, I wish I can be a little fly on the wall the first day-oh well.
Oh, Ellie also told me on the way out of her class that she is not going to tell any of her new friends that she is a "superstar" she doesn't want them to be jealous. Yes, we are in for some Drama this year.

Funny ha ha

This picture just makes me smile, when Ken and I went to Alaska we went Kayaking in Ketchikan (boy, try saying that a few times) I had to use the restroom while Ken was getting our gear together. I saw this bathroom and it made me laugh, the funny thing is, is when I was done I walked out and there was a line of men waiting to go into the "inboard" room. HAHAHA, I was laughing so hard thankfully my oh so smart husband came walking out of the "outboards" room and politely told his fellow male outboarders what was up. HAHAHA !!!

Best Cinnamon Rolls Ever!!!

I have made these several times, my family craves them!! They turn out perfect every time and they are ohh so yummy.

Ingredients
2 (.25 ounce) packages active dry yeast
2 1/2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
1 (9 ounce) package yellow cake mix (about 1 1/2 cups)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

3 cups confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 tablespoons milk

Directions
In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine the yeast mixture with the cake mix, salt and vanilla; stir well to combine. Stir in the flour; beat well. Cover bowl and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Deflate dough and turn it out onto a well floured surface. Roll dough out into a rectangle and spread with butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Roll up dough and cut into 3/4 inch thick rolls. Place rolls in two lightly greased 9x13 inch baking pans. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 45 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Bake rolls in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes. While rolls are baking, prepare the frosting. In a medium bowl, stir together confectioners' sugar, 1/3 cup butter, vanilla and milk. Let rolls cool slightly then spread with frosting.

I Love Craigslist!!

I found this little beauty the other day, I called Ken and asked if I could have some money to buy this little treasure. He went to go pick it up and took one look at this hutch and thought I must have been crazy, but he did what all good husbands would do and gave the nice man some money and brought home my lovely hutch. It was a work in progress and took some TLC, but I am so happy with my labor and quickly found a place for it.

Please forgive me it has been months since my last confession.

My poor little blog has been greatly neglected. Now that things have settled in I have to get back on track. I think it has been to long I don't even know where to start....

Maci turned 9, Christmas came and we were all spoiled, Ellie turned 5, we still own our home in Colorado, Ken was still living in Texas, we found someone to rent out home in Colorado, moved to Texas, in home with some little issues (must call to find out), Ken bought Volvo S-40 (not new but new to us) Maci went to new elementary school for 3 weeks before summer vacation, made new friends, having fun with old friends, Kens car breaks down, Presley turned 3, cruise to the Bahamas, trip to Colorado, ok I think that covers everything, totally potty trained 3 year old, oh and Ken and I celebrated 11 years of marriage. So it has been so crazy I have not even had time to wrap my mind around things. I really need to start blogging again.

AND WHATS UP WITH THE CRAZY COMMENTS I KEEP GETTING... WHAT????????
