Sidney Weber

Last Saturday we received some sad news. That on Friday a family in our ward who are friends of ours were in a terrible car accident. They were on their way to Utah and their vehicle hit some ice and their oldest daughter Sidney was killed. My heart just aches to lose a daughter so young, Sidney had just turned 12 in November. I am so grateful for the Gospel, to have a testimony of the plan of Salvation and to know that my family is Eternal. This past week Ken and I have often sat alone and pondered the things that are most important to us. As we went to the Service today the Spirit was so strong and to see this Mother and Father and young family be so courageous in front of hundreds, you can tell that they were comforted in the fact that they knew they would see their precious daughter again.

Memorial Day

Ellie's way of playing horseshoes is walking up and putting it on -ya that's called a ringer.

Ellie, Maci, Janelle and little baby Isaacson (they say it's a boy, I still think girl)

Maci and daddy

A little late, but it has been a crazy week. Memorial Weekend my sister Janelle and her hubby Kent came from Utah to visit. It was really good seeing them and hanging out. The girls love them so much and have so much fun with their Aunts and Uncles.

School is out!

SCHOOL IS OUT!
Maci was so excited this morning, it is her last day of school today and summer break is finally here. She has grown so much this school year and learned so many things. She has had a great year full of good grades, friends and really good memories. It has been fun to watch her grow and face new challenges and get through them. She is so smart and loves to learn, I only hope this will continue through the rest of her school years.

Peter Cottontail

For awhile now our backyard has been the home to a family of bunny's. Not much to Kens liking but the girls have gotten a kick out of it when a tiny little bunny is outside. We have even named them, can't tell who is who but yep, they have names. This after noon I was out in the back yard picking up a few things and looked down in the window well of the basement and guess what had fallen all the way down there. A tiny little bunny! AWWW! First I thought that it might be dead because it is a long fall, or if not dead surly it broke a leg. But no the little thing was still alive who knows how long it was down there. I was not about to let it die down there nor was I going to be the one to get it out, sorry I didn't know if it would bit or what kind of diseases it had. Ken was not home until later so that left our good friend Lars to the rescue. Yea for Lars! Lucky for us he was not busy watching a really good movie, (hehehhe) (inside joke). He came and got the bunny out and put it in a box. Now you know what Maci was thinking, "cool mom, can we keep it, I always wanted a bunny for a pet" Uhm, ya right, the girl doesn't even take care the guinea pigs. I finally agreed to let her pet it, and that led to holding it, and that led to crying because I am a mean mom who won't let her keep it. Maci cried and cried because she had to let it go. She is all better and the bunny is once again in our backyard eating our grass.
Yes, we are still alive. Sorry it has been awhile since I last posted. The last few weeks the girls have been so sick, well Ellie and Presley have had this really bad cough and fever with it and for awhile I saw no end to this. But things are defiantly looking up now, and just in time for school to be out. Maci is so excited Thursday is her last day of school. I can't believe she is going into second grade next year-Wow, am I that old, an where does the time go? Well I hope everyone is doing good, kids are crying, laundry is buzzing and would some one please answer the phone! -Gotta go.

Birthday Card Drama

Happy Birthday Ken!
Today is my Hubby's Birthday-yippee! Poor Ken, I had Ellie pick out the cake and the card for him.
So we were at Target yesterday and I said to Ellie "what kind of cake should we get for your daddy?"
I think we should make a Barbie cake with pink frosting on it and put lots of glitter all over.
Ohhh, I bet your daddy would love that cake, how about we just do the pink cake.
Alright, (little pout face) but I don't think he will like it.
Then we moved to the card section and this is where it all went down...
Hey Ellie how about this card? (pointing to a nice sensible card with a little bear family)
NO MOMMY I WANT TO GET HIM THIS CARD! (By the way she is full on yelling at me)
So I very nicely looked at the card, and it was a card that you would buy if someone passed away, although it had really pretty flowers on it, I was not going to by that card.
Ellie honey, why don't you pick out another card for daddy because this card is not the right one.
(stomp of the feet and a little huff) Fine mommy, then I want this one.
Now at this point I was about to get any other card she picked out, but her second choice was far worse than the first one. She picked out a little naughty card with a half naked man on the card that said something like this... "To a naughty birthday girl" you get the point right. Seriously this was Target we were in and it was down at my three years old level. and guess what here came the fit that we all knew would happen, ready count to three...
NOOOOOO! MOMMY (kicking and screaming child on the floor with people watching) I WANT THIS CARD FOR MY DADDY. NOOOOOO, NOOOOOO (lots of crying) NOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Finally after all the drama calms down she found a little card with dinosaur's that you can color with stickers, It looks like a toddler card, but hay it's not risky or for people grieving so there you go Ken-Happy Birthday, I love you so much hope you have a Sparkly Birthday with tons of Glitter. Love ya.

Happy Mothers Day

Creme Brulee
Dinner Ken made tonight
Happy Mothers day
I love Mothers Day, there is a joke in our house that everyday is mothers day because I am so spoiled by my Husband. Today was pretty much perfect besides the fact that we still have sick girls. It is so cool to wake up in the morning with smiling little faces that are so excited to show off their homemade cards and gifts. They are so proud and happy. I love being a mom and I feel that I have truly been blessed with my children, they bring so much joy and laughter in our home. I remember growing up and all I wanted to be was a mom. Today I look at all of the great example I have in my own life. Mom- your the best I love you so much and you have taught me so many things, I love that I can call you anytime with my frustration and you always give me the best advice. My Mother-in law, I love you. I want you to know that I look up to you in so many ways. My sisters, it is so fun watching you with your children and ones on the way. I only wish we were closer. And to my friends, I feel I have the best friends in the whole world. You guys all teach me so much and I again look up to all of you.
Happy Mothers day to all you wonderful moms out there.

Sick girls and Webkinz

This week has been pretty crazy. Ellie came down with a terrible fever that has lasted the past four days and then this morning Presley woke up to 103 fever. Ugh, having sick kids is no fun. So since the kids have been sick I think Ken has come home to all of us still in our pajamas pretty much everyday this week (I know Ken is one lucky man). So today is now Friday and I am happy to report that the Laundry from our trip last week is now officially folded and put away, YIPPEE! I do have some good new, thanks to not doing anything this week my "Webkinz" house is almost done. While we were in California I bought the girls their own little Webkinz to play with, they love it. It is so fun to decorate the little houses, you know how I love to decorate and this is not costing Ken any money. OH, sorry I forgot to mention while I bough the girls one I picked one up for me as well, It's pretty fun and addicting.

California Trip - Oh, for the love of sand!

What the heck was I thinking- seriously my little pasty white kids and the beach. The day started out great, I wanted to take the girls on our last day and take them to the beach, we went to Huntington. I don't know what I was thinking (again for the second time) I thought it would be nice to take some family pictures on the beach and then walk to Ruby's and eat dinner. Not really thinking that the girls would really want to play in the sand or water. But they did, and boy was I so unprepared. No swim suites for Ken and I or Presley, not enough sunscreen to bathe my kids in, and no blanket for Presley to sit on and HELLO, WE HAD SAND EVERYWHERE! Presley wanted down but of course all she did was eat the sand by the handfuls and Maci and Ellie were acting like a bunch of hooligans. OHH the memories we shall have.
I did get some really great shots of the girls and they did have a great time, so in the end it was all worth it.

California Trip - Disneyland

Disneyland at last! Our family was so excited to go to Disneyland. We flew my mom out the day before to help with the little ones, she was a great help, if Ellie or Presley was not able to ride the rides she stayed and watched them (sorry mom). We did three days of the happiest place on Earth and we still missed a few rides. On Thursday we made reservations to eat lunch with the Princesses at Ariels Grotto, I highly recommend it, especially if you have little princesses. The girls and Ken loved it! There is just something about this place were you just feel so magical while your there, it is truly one of my favorite places to be with my family.

California Trip - "mommy can we buy a Harley"?

We can't go to California and not visit the Johnsons. Doug wanted to show off his new toy (I guess it is a mid-life crisis thing). I have to tell you the idea of putting Maci on the back of a Harley was a bit scary for this bubble mom, but she loved it! Come to find out they even went on the freeway, not just around the block a few times. When she got back she told me that was so much fun, and can we get one.
Not only am I dealing with Maci wanting one, but now Ken is "hog-hooked". Doug mentioned to Ken if he wanted to ride up to Sturgis this year and Ken is soooooo wanting to go. Just a few minor problems- Ken has no Harley. He is looking to rent one because his women won't let him buy one (well not yet).

California trip - part 2

After the fun time in Bakersfield, we went to San Bernidino to visit some good friends. Raela and Greg you guys are AWESOME! Thank you so much for letting us make a mess of your house, eat all of your food and listen to our crazy stories, which by the way no sharing family secrets. It was really fun being with friends from High School and watching our kids all play together.

California trip - part 1

now we have Presley in the picture

Yea, "There's no place like home" We just got back from California we spent about a week and a half there and we did just about everything. Our first stop was Bakersfield, I know, I know, but really it's not all that bad up there, I actually kind-of like it there. My Grandparents are there and I have an Aunt and Uncle there as well, so we got some good old family time in. The girls had a blast hanging with my cousin Kim's little girls. It was good to see them and be with family. We ate some yummy food and Kim borrowed a blow up water slide that the girls just loved!
